  • September Focus

The focus for this month is Giving of Yourself. Some suggestions for this month are: visit someone who can't out of the house, bake a treat for a new neighbor, do yardwork for someone, volunteer at the soup kitchen.

Sunday, October 1st will be First Sunday Meal and 2024 planning session. Food will be provided, so all you need to bring are your ideas. There will be timers set in order to be respectful of time, but please do allow for extra time on this Sunday.

  • concert

Mac Powell will be performing at Lake Forest Church on Thursday, October 19th. The time listed is 7-9pm. Tickets are $20. Please let me know if you would like to attend.

    SEPTEMBER 2023

For the month of September, please consider donating a ball or a doll for the shoeboxes. Either of these items must be small enough to fit into a shoebox. If you purchase a full-sized ball, please deflate it and include an air pump. Shoeboxes and shipping costs are also helpful donations.

  • Fires in Lahaina

A few people asked where to contribute to those on Maui. The Church of God in Hawaii has lost one of their churches, 2 of their pastors lost everything, and at least 100 church members have been affected. If you feel led to give, please mark your envelope "Hawaii" or go directly to their website https://engage.suran.com/hicog/s/give/new-gift?slug=hawaiifirerelief

In last week's newsletter, a list was included of the items needed for the homeless bags. You can also find the paper list in the vestibule. Please bring your donations within the next few weeks, as we are planning a ministry outing on October 17th. You are also welcome to donate cash in the offering. Please mark your envelope accordingly.

Those who were in service (in-person or online) were able to see a little of the work that WOTS are doing in our area. If this is a ministry that moves your heart, consider giving financially or by donating plastic grocery bags. You can also give of your time when we head back out with them in October.
